Gerhi was born in 1967 in Thabazimbi (Mountain of Iron) in the Waterberg District of the Old Transvaal. Currently he lives and works in Stellenbosch, in the Western Cape Winelands of South Africa.

Gerhi has previously worked as a Credit Control Supervisor, Editor, Stage Manager, Art Teacher, Business Owner, Stock Manager, Marketing Manager, Conference Convenor, Theatre Director, Museum Officer, Exhibition Curator, Website Designer, Infopreneur, Project Manager, Business Consultant and Speaker.

Gerhi has been writing full time since 2008 and his first novel will be published early in 2012.
